Young woman sewing

The first photograph is centred on a young woman sewing white fabric and smiling for the camera. Her sewing machine is threaded with a very large spool of thread, not a small spool like those used by people sewing at home. Slightly out of focus in the background, is a row of work stations with other people sewing. Clearly she is working in a garment factory, although we can not tell which one or why the photograph was taken. Her clothing and hairstyle suggest the photo was taken in the 1940s.
